Discharge: ‘He suffers from chronic disease of the chest and chronic disease of the liver contracted in Liverpool in 1848, the result of cold caught whilst under canvas during a wet season.’
Valentine and Rebecca were accompanied on the voyage of the Merchantman by their children Mary, Valentine, John, William and Eliza.11th December 1876 Rebecca Guinan (sic) was admitted to the (Royal) Adelaide hospital. At the time she was a widow aged 44 years, Church of England, living at Port Adelaide and working as a washwoman. She said she was born Cavan Ireland and had been in the Colony for 1 year (?) having arrived on the Merchantman.
Son John Guinan was also admitted to the hospital on 6th January 1882 age 25. He said he was a single man aged 25, Roman Catholic living Port Adelaide. He was a labourer and was born in Manchester and had been 20 years in the Colony having arrived on the Merchantman. He died 8th January 1882
