Further InformationDischarge: “Worn out from length of service – rheumatic pains and varicose veins of both legs – he began to fail 6 months since and was then occupied as an orderly in the hospital at this station Nottingham”.
1851 English Census, Simon, Susan, Elizabeth, Henry and James reside Elven, Durham
Mentioned in the Surgeon Superintends Report – suffering from Catarrhus et Debilitas 26/11/1852 during Dudbrook voyage. The surgeon reported “this pensioner when embarked was unable to walk about the deck, unfit for duty for 3 weeks and in the remainder of the period he executed only light duties”.
1853 arrived Fremantle with his 3 children after his wife died 1852. Visited NSW at the end of 1853 with eldest son Henry, whilst James stayed with Elizabeth & David Hocking in Fremantle, Simeon returned to WA in 1854.
1854 Stationed and resided in Fremantle.
1869 correspondence with War Office for assistance to return home to the United Kingdom.
