Further Information | British Army Worldwide Index 1851 John Grattan 2664 Private 49th Foot location Fermoy, Cork Ireland and Corfu Ionian Islands Discharge due to loss of right ring finger by amputation after shell wound received 21st July. Has been under treatment at Brompton Hospital for syphilis for the last 4 months of an aggressive form – general health much broken. 19th November 1880 shown on roll of Enrolled Guard as occupying quarters with wife.
