Further Information | British Army Worldwide index 1841 Cornelius Glasson 811 Private 58th Regt Location Glasgow and Edinburgh 1851 As above (no service no) Invalid Depot Chatham Discharge due to violent palpitations of the heart In the 1851 Census Cornelius Glasson, age 24 (sic) a soldier born Ireland is living at No 3 Middle Street Brompton Kent with his wife Elizabeth aged 22 also born Ireland and their daughter Bridget aged 9 months born Brompton Kent. On 2th August 1873 Charged with being drunk on guard a District Court Martial sentenced him to 56 days imprisonment with pension suspended 17th December 1886 An Inquest was held into the death of Cornelius Glasson who was found dead in a paddock near the Old Burial Ground that found he died from natural causes not from and force or violence despite excessive drinking and congestion of the brain. |
