Liber Defunctorum – Death Gallagher – In the year 1866 on 30th May in his home in Greenough, in communion with Holy Mother the Church, John (son of William Gallagher and Mary O’Neill) native of Glasgow, Scotland, 55 years of age, gave up his soul to God having confessed to me A.J.Lecaille, approved priest, on the day before.
His body was buried by friends in the Protestant Cemetery next to the body of his wife, Sarah, as he himself wished, on the following day.

Further InformationOn 26th April 1853 sent north to Port Gregory Convict Depot per the coaster “William Pope”. In 1856 at the ‘Ticket of Leave’ depot at Lynton, Port Gregory was closed and convicts and guards were transferred to Greenough.
