In 1857 ten of the William Hammond’s pensioner guards claimed good conduct pay for 27 days service, one of whom was Private John Foster.
Lived in Doveton(sic) Street Ballarat in 1882 (UK National Archives ref 1882/9161 via FindMyPast which is a statutory declaration from a William Sutton attesting to Fosters identity regarding a deferred pension – mentions WA EPG details)
John Foster was awarded a deferred pension commencing 7th August 1881 of 5 pence per diem under Authority 4793 (not available) At the time he was age 60, height 5’7 ¼”, Brown hair, Hazel eyes and a fresh complexion
He died at Doulton Street in Ballarat on 18th April 1898.
