Discharge due to being worn out
James Dinning enlisted in the 1st Waikato Regiment (New Zealand Maori War) on 1st September 1863 at Castlemaine Victoria. He said he was a pensioner aged 32 (he was c52) born Catterdun (sic) Tyrone Ireland, a married man height 5’8” and sailed for New Zealand in the Star of India
If he was married his wife did not turn up on the passenger list for the Star of India She may have remained in Victoria to a later date death not found in either Victoria or New Zealand
