William appears to have travelled to Tasmania as he sailed from Hobart to Melbourne on 7th December 1855 on the Fenella – alone
Jane Cuthbert, aged 47 and daughter Harriet age 6, departed Adelaide 6th October 1854 for Melbourne on the Fergus, the ship having put into Adelaide on the journey from Perth to Melbourne to replenish food supplies.
