Further Information | Francis Curtis “served with the Army of the Punjaub in 1848-1849 was present at the affair at Ramnugger and at the battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat. Special service: Present at the surrender of the Sikh army, the occupation and attack of Peshawar and the expulsion of the Affghans (sic)beyond the Khyber Pass Received a medal for services in the Punjaub Campaign- a bar for Chillianwallah and one for the battle of Goojerat. Served in the Persian Expedition in 1857 and was present at the action of Mohammerah 26th March 1857. Received medal for service in Persia Served with the Central Indian Field force in 1857-8 under the command of Major General Sir Hugh Ross KGB and was present at the capture of Rathgar 19th January and at the action of Bawdia 31 January 1858”. Discharge due to chronic rheumatism Francis was charged and found guilty of a series of robberies from 1864. John O’Donnell Recommended Francis Curtiss (sic) be admitted to Mt.
