His widow Sarah was employed as an Assistant matron at the lunatic asylum from 1 July 1864 until she resigned May 1873 prior to her 2nd marriage. She said she had 3 children to support. See Barker page 47 extensive articles

Also in the Punjaub Campaign in 1848-9 present at the passage of the Chenab 4 December 1848 and at the battled of Chillianwalla 23 January 1849 and Goojerat 20th February 1849”
