In the 1841 Census HO 107/789/2/50 Benjamin Craggs is living at the Pockthorne Barracks with his wife Elizabeth and their children Elizabeth, William, Catherine and Benjamin
Discharge due to enlargement of the right leg and loss of motion of the ankle joint the result of a kick by a horse
John Craggs aged 2 years was treated for rubella on the voyage of the Sea Park
Widow applied for poor relief 10th March 1883
Benjamin’s son John Michael was also employed by the convict establishment as warder at Geraldton.
John Michael Craig said his mother was Margaret and it is possible Benjamin’s first wife Elizabeth died and he remarried. There are two deaths for a Margaret Craig one in 1888 and one in 1894.
