Further InformationOn the baptisms of his children his rank varies between Sergeant, Bombardier and Gunner always with the 2nd Troop Horse Brigade sometimes he is Henry and other times Henry Thomas

Another child Thomas Charters died Poona 27th December 1842 age 2 but it merely says he was a child of the Horse Artillery, no corresponding birth found

Son William Henry the only surviving child of Henry’s first marriage enlisted in the Royal Artillery 1860. He served for over 23 years earning himself a medal and clasp for Persia and a medal and clasp for central India. He married Jane Helier at Jersey. He retired as a corporal 18th September 1883 to live in Hull. England with a pension of 1/4.
