James and Bridget with six children ages 1 to 18 years arrived onboard “Bride” 3rd January 1867 departed London 29th September 1866 name spelt KASHIN. Even though requested transfer to Melbourne may never actually have traveled there and left ship in Fremantle.

John Cashin, b 1848 who died on 2 August 1932 in a truck en route to Meekatharra at the age of 84 years. The newspaper article indicates that he had a sister residing in Fremantle and a nephew, Clary THOMAS, in Meekatharra. According to the Electoral Rolls, Charles Clarence “Clary” THOMAS was a stockman and labourer in Meekatharra during the 1925 – 1936 period. He is recorded in the WA BMD as the son of James Clifton THOMAS and Annie Jane CASHIN/CASSON (Birth/Death). Anne Jane CASHIN is recorded at her death as the daughter of James CASHEN and Bedelia KENNY (WA BMD). The name “Bedelia” is the Irish version of “Bridget” and also has the nickname “Biddy” or “Amelia Bedelia”. As you have recorded, Amelia CASHIN died in Geraldton in 1892. James and Annie Thomas appear to have been living in the Fremantle area. Thanks to David Senn for the research on John Cashin.
