John born on Guernsey on the 22nd May 1844 and baptised at Notre Dame du Rosaire in Guernsey on the 2nd June 1844. (Family oral history is EPG Michael Carroll had a brother, Jack who went to New Zealand). A John Carroll was godfather to Elisabeth along with Mary Frost in 1856.
