John Calvert was a member of the Enrolled Guard from 6th December 1880 until it was disbanded 31st March 1887 at a rate of three shilling and six pence per day.11th October 1886 promoted to Corporal.
March – September 1881 received payment for handling and storing explosives at the Fremantle magazine:
25th May 1888 when Enrolled Force disbanded, applied for post of orderly at Fremantle Hospital

On 1 November 1878 Joseph Taylor made a will bequeathing to his ‘beloved daughter Mary Calvert wife of John Calvert’ his cottage and grant P No 17 situated Swan Street North Fremantle with all buildings thereon, furniture and everything I possess. He named Major Finnerty as the trustee but did not name an executor. (This address appears to be where Mary was living when she died.)
It was not until after the death of Maria Calvert on 19 August 1908 that Mary Ann Mullins only living child of Maria Calvert, wife of Patrick Mullins applied for letters of administration for both Joseph Taylor and Maria Calvert.
The value of the estate was £450.
