Further Information | British Army, Worldwide Index: 1851 Thomas McGlaughlin (sic) 2405 location Meerut, India 1861 Thomas McGloughlin (sic) 2405 location Aldershot Discharge: At own request having served 21 years 14th November 1883 appointed member of Enrolled Pensioner Guard.On his transfer of pension application dated 29th January 1871 some of the information is different from what we have recorded. He said he was married to Bridget Kean on 5th December 1862 at Dublin and his parents were Thomas and Margaret. He had four children under the age of 14. He applied for the transfer to Melbourne because he wished to reside there When the list of possible candidates for the Enrolled Guard was drawn up on 21st August 1880 Thomas McGloughlin was consider ‘unfit’, however, on 14th November 1883 he was appointed to the guard where he served until his death at the Barracks in 1884. |
