Further Information | Discharge papers (WO97) from 97th Regiment are not able to be found British Army Worldwide Index 1851 John A Bradley 2124 Private 97th Foot location New Brunswick 1861 John Alexr Bradley 356 Corporal location Cork Discharge at own request having completed 21 years’ service Sergeant Bradley was appointed Acting Sergeant Major for the voyage of the Corona. John Bradley died during a fire at his home at Lauriston near Kyneton on 8th July 1887. A Magisterial Inquiry found the death was accidental. The inquiry noted he was a widower his wife having died some years previously. It also lists among his effects were several musical instruments as apparently he was a good musician. The name of John’s father differs on documents, Alexander on his marriage and Albert on his pension transfer document. |
