Fraser age 30 (rounded up) 1851 Census HO 107/2421/509/29 Henry is living with his wife Catherine age 31 born Ireland and his son John James age 1 born Berwick upon Tweed at Hatters Lane Berwick upon Tweed. He is an Out Pensioner of Chelsea Hospital born Chelmsford Essex Henry Fraser was one of the pensioners who had entrusted Captain Foss with money to the valued of £10/15/10 Surgeon’s Journal (William Hammond) 13th February 1856: Henry J Fraser, Corporal of Pensioner Guard age 47 –debilitated frame complains of severe cough, shortness of breath especially on any exertion and general debility – with occasional pain across the upper part of the chest. Discharged 1848 general debility. Admitted October 1855 Military Hospital Plymouth with inflammation in right side of the chest where he remained until shortly before embarkation – 6th December last. Expired 4:30 January 13th March 1856. |
