| Further Information | British Army Worldwide Index 1841 Bernard Sherridan (sic) 949 Private 47th foot Location Barbados 1851 Bernard Sheridan 949/34/948 Private Depot 47th Foot Buttevant and Waterford Discharge due to chronic rheumatism and impaired health. Oldest son, John Sheridan, moved to South Australia in 1872. A master mariner, in fishing and general trade, he took up a lease on Kangaroo Island (around 1900) and then lived at Glanville Adelaide South Australia Joseph Dart, de facto husband of Mary Sheridan was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 3 years prison for her death The three Dart girls were admitted to the RC Orphanage on 24 February 1868. Rebecca aged 8 years, Mary Ann age 6 years and Amy aged 4 years. Rebecca and Mary Ann were sent out to service in January 1876 Rebecca to Albany and Mary Ann to Kojonup while Amy was sent to service in Perth in March 1880. Amy (Anne) Dart appears to have married Charles LAURENCE but there is no marriage or death registered. |
