Discharge at own request having served of 22 years.
The records for his service prior to 1857 were destroyed by fire at Cawnpore.
The Surgeon Superintendent of the Merchantman rated Donald’s conduct on board as Very Good despite losing his liquor ration for 7 days for being ‘irregular’ on guard.
