Further Information | ‘Served throughout the campaign in 1842 in Affghanistan (sic) for which he received a medal. Also served in the campaign 1845/6 on the Sutlej and wears a medal and two clasps for the action of Moodkee, Ferozeshah and Sobraon.’ British Army Worldwide Index 1841 John Robinson 918 private 9th foot location Meerut 1851 John Robinson 918 Corporal 9th foot location Dublin Discharge due to pulmonary disease and worn out. 10th February 1853 John Robinson age 14 months was successfully treated for diarrhoea, however he died 2nd April 1853 (from hydrocephalus ?) the surgeon remarking he was an unhealthy child ailing the whole time of the passage |
