To New Zealand 1864 1864 Soldier in the 4th Waikato regiment enlisted 14 March 1864 Awarded the Maori War medal and a land grant of 50 acres at East Hamilton Between 1871 and 1875 James Knox paid half his pension for the support of his daughters in the home for the destitute. Later reduced to four shilling a day for Rosina, after 6 July 1876 he was no longer required to contribute to her maintenance as she had left the institution. See WO22/293 1876-1880 also WO 22/253 |
