John McKee was admitted to the (Royal) Adelaide hospital on 12th December 1887, at the time he was age 66, a married man, religion Church of England living at Pulteney St., a bootmaker born Kent, who had been 22 years in Colony, arriving on the ship David Jessie.(sic)
Son William McKEE was also admitted to the hospital on 2nd August 1886, age 26, single, Prot, residence Pulteney St., labourer, born Devonshire, having been 23 years in Colony, arriving on the ship David Jessie (sic)
Although John’s second son was baptised Alexander Michael he appears to have been known in South Australia as Stephen Alexander, his death notice said he was the son of John McKee of Hindmarsh Square, it was the home of pensioner John McKee.
