Further Information | 1841 Census (HO 107/771/4/13) for Docking Union Norfolk Syderstone – Winifred MONEY (20) a servant in the home of John STEWART a minister British Army Worldwide Index 1841 Frederick Stone 648 Private 46th Foot location Gibraltar Discharge due to chronic dysentery first occurred while serving in the West Indies Frederick Stone was one of the 5 pensioners who joined the Mermaid at Portsmouth to fill the vacancies in the Convict guard left by sickness and death.He suffered from hepatitis for most of the voyage of the Mermaid and was sent to the Military hospital on arrival in the Colony. The Surgeon Superintendent also mentioned he had previously had his loins injured by a horse. 6th March 1860 – Stone requested he have a 4 roomed cottage built on his grant Y 28 at a cost of £110 29th January 1864 – subscribed to Greenough Fire Fund 24th March 1863 – donated to the appeal for the relief of distressed cotton workers in England 2nd February 1877 – Frederick was convicted of assaulting his wife and sentenced to one month’s prison, during which time half his pension was suspended and the other half paid to his wifePurchased Land – 1st December 1868 – application to purchase Perth lots Y153 and Y154 at £6 per lot – granted 8th December 1868 14th January 1869 – application to purchase Perth lots Y184 and Y185 at £6 per lot – granted 26th January 1869 Frederick Stone wrote his will 5th July 1886 appointing his son George as sole executor. He left all his personal estate to his children Frederick, George and Fanny absolutely and in equal shares. His real estate he also left to the 3 children as tenants in common. The witnesses were Martin O’Dea and Michael O’Dea. |
