Further Information | British Army, Worldwide Index 1851 John McKinnon 1908 was stationed at Bermuda 1861 Agra East Indies Discharge: Due to debility, suffered sunstroke while on Field duty in 1858 Had five Good conduct badges and medal and gratuity for good conduct and long service Engaged in the suppression of the Mutiny in Bengal from 17th November 1857, present at the final siege and capture of Lucknow. This man mentioned in the Surgeon’s Log on Monday 12th June 1865 as being off proper post. As first offence placed on 7 day watch and spirit ration stopped.John McKinnon died from inflammation of the lungs (EPC) After John McKinnon’s death Ann (Mackinan) married 29 August 1875 Thomas Hansbury expiree who had arrived on the Racehorse. After his death in a train accident on 4 June 1879 at Jarrahdale she married John Hughes on 15 December 1879. One child possibly Frederick or John Hughes was born in 1880.
