Further InformationFinlay McDonald served in the 42nd regiment from 24th March 1837 – 13th January 1852. There is a note on page 2 of the WO97 to the effect he served with the 74th Regiment from 26th March 1825 – 4th June 1833 and a parchment certificate is filed with the WO 97 to this effect, however, as he was born 1816 he would have been only 9 years of age.
