Further InformationSurgeon’s Log states 31st March 1851 simple fracture of both bones in right leg followed by extensive ulceration and subsequent exposure of portion of the tibia caused by fall on deck by John JONES.  14th July 1851 transferred to Military Hospital Perth.

He was in the hospital on the Pyrenees for 105 days of the voyage
18th November 1852 An inquiry was held to inspect EP John Jones RM and inquire into the accident consisting of a Board made up of Asst. Surgeon Elliott, ord Med Dept. TMO President and Asst. Surgeon Jones, MD 99th Regiment, Member for the information of the Right Hon. Sec. at War.
