| Further Information | British Army Worldwide Index 1841 Martin McCormick 422 private 99th Foot location Dublin Discharge due to break up of Constitution 4th April 1851 John McCormick, 2, died from Mesenherica (Tabes). The surgeon noted when he came on board was much emaciated apparently from want of proper nutrition. Mrs McCormick age 30 suffered from an abscess February 8th 1851 aboard the Mermaid.9th November 1863 –The resident Magistrate Fremantle requested temporary relief be given to pensioner McCormick as he is unable to provide for his wife and 5 children through sickness. 14th June 1864 the RM Fremantle again asks for relief for Pensioner McCormick who is unable to work and care for his 4 children as his wife has left him for another man. He is will to resign his pension of 9d per day if they could be received into the home. Esther McCormick, wife of a pensioner, was living on the Canning when she gave evidence in a trial July 1865 |
